Dayton woman admits to sex with boy

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton woman admits she had sex with a 12-year-old boy.
55-year-old Gloria Murphy pleaded guilty to one count of gross sexual imposition of a person under the age of 13. The charge is a third degree felony and is punishable by up to five years in prison.
A very frail looking Gloria Murphy answered to the charges in Judge Mary Katherine Huffman’s courtroom on Friday, October 23.
Her other charge, rape of a child, was dropped under a plea agreement.
Dayton police arrested Murphy who lives in the 5,400 block of Rawlings Drive on January 30 after the boy told an adult he and Murphy had sex, on her birthday, January 28.
Police said Murphy didn’t force the boy to have sex, but since the boy is under the age of 13, its considered rape.
Gloria Murphy has now been designated a tier 2 sex offender. She goes back to court on December 2 for sentencing.

Father arrested for beating alleged molester

DAVIE, FL (AP) -- Police have jailed the father of a 3-year-old boy who allegedly battered a man his son accused of molestation.
Now, 27-year-old Manuel Vega and an alleged accomplice could receive a much stiffer sentence than the man police say they attacked.
Thirty-eight-year-old Luke Petruschke had to be placed in a medically induced coma after the weekend attack. Police say Vega and 43-year-old Krish Carter slammed the man with concrete blocks, punched and kicked him.
The two were being held without bond on attempted murder charges. If he recovers, police say Petruschke will face charges of lewd and lascivious molestation
